Penetrating Damp: Services

What Is Penetrating Damp?

Penetrating damp is when water ingress penetrates into the property through an external wall, for example from a leaking gutter or defective pointing.

How Can I Tell If My House Has Penetrating Damp?

Common signs of penetrating damp are;
- Discoloured patches on your walls or ceiling
- Peeling paint or wallpaper
- Bubbling or crumbling plaster
- Black mould.

What Can Derbyshire Damp Services Do To Help?

For penetrating damp, the treatment will depend on the cause of the ingress.

Our surveyor will identify the cause and advise on the best way to fix the problem.

We will also resolve the damage already done to your property by removing the affected plaster and re-plastering with a specific plaster that is resistant to damp, treat or replace any affected timbers and clean and treat any mould that is present.
